Over the last three decades of our service, Hog Roast Herongate have always been extremely proud of our links to British farming. We could not do what we do as a caterer to the high standard that we do without the very best meats and produce behind us. We’ve always said that a hog roast is only ever going to be as good as the meat it begins with, even with all our chef’s expertise and stylish cooking methods to put on top of it. With high quality, fresh pigs, Hog Roast Herongate would not consistently be the nation’s favourite hog roast caterer.
We have always shopped local for that reason. We believe that British farming is the very best, and the freshness that we are afforded by shopping close by is invaluable to the quality of every one of our dishes, too. So, then, when our team was invited to cater for Herongate’s farming competition last week, we couldn’t possibly pass up the opportunity.
What a privilege it was to be amongst so many incredible farmers, each vying for the top spots at the competition. Such a high degree of competition from all over can only be even better for business, so we are excited to have our hog roasts coming out in even better quality in the years to come. Of course, such a well natured competition needed the dining to match, which is where Hog Roast Herongate came in to do our part. Many of these same farmers have done so much for us over the years; it is only right we give something back by feeding them with the very same meats and produce they have reared for us.
The endpoint of all their hard work is our signature hog roast – the very best in the nation. Brimming with flavour and crisp texture, it was a perfect filling for a roll or wrap for each of the farmers and guests in attendance. Served along with our herb dressed new potatoes, tomato and mozzarella salad, red cabbage slaw, mixed leaves, and grilled veg and halloumi skewers, there was one big win for British farming to be had before the competition even reached its close!
