This past weekend brought the Hog Roast Southchurch plenty to shout about. Not only did we all enjoy great weather once again, the catering team here also enjoyed a triple threat of home celebrations across the weekend, as Head Chef Dohnis and the Hog Roast Southchurch spread out across South Essex over the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to cater a brilliant 40th birthday celebration for Chris, a high-energy 21st party for Darren’s daughter, and a lovely closer to the weekend with Zoe’s beautiful Christening Day.
It is weekends like this that remind the team here just how brilliant our job is – not that we ever really forget it. Three days and three incredible events, each unique and special in their own way with their own quirks, atmospheres, and guests to meet and treat to a special dining experience.
The one that we would like to tell you just a little more about here is the 21st birthday on the Saturday. We all remember what it was like to be young and turning 21 – we even have a few here in the Hog Roast Southchurch team that could more freshly tell you all about it than the rest of us. A day filled with excitement and plenty of reason to party. Well that is exactly what father Darren and the Hog Roast Southchurch team provided for his daughter. With 70 guests in attendance and a very excited daughter, it was up to our team to provide the menu to match the energy and the occasion.
Of course, when it comes to excitement and celebration, you don’t get many dishes and dining experiences more apt to the occasion than Hog Roast Southchurch’s famed hog roast. With an 8pm serving time, we had our signature pork roast cooking in the traditional spit style through the afternoon. The level of care required in a spit roast ensures perfect results every time. Guests could see just how lovely and crisp their pork roast was getting, turning all the more golden and shimmering under the evening’s summer sun. By the time 8pm rolled around, everyone was ready for a good bite or two or three!
