Somehow, despite it feeling like just the other week that we were posting about our New Year plans and closing up the last of our Christmas events, it is already August. No sooner than it felt like the summer had just begun that we are now staring at the end line already.
But that just means that we have to make August yet another big month, and fortunately for the Hog Roast Ingatestone we have already done just that by kicking straight into the month with a wonderful celebration of life at Linda’s birthday event! No time for slowing our way into the last month of summer: Hog Roast Ingatestone are kicking into gear and beginning as we mean to go on – fast, in style, and with plenty of fun along the way!
Linda informed the Hog Roast Ingatestone team some time back that she would be looking for dining for 80 guests for her birthday. While that may sound like a lot from a cooking and serving perspective, with our speciality hog roasts it is as easy as setting down one roast and carving. Even just one of Hog Roast Ingatestone’s regular pork roasts, cooked in the authentic spit style, could feed 100 guests – and that is before you get to any of the side accompaniments that follow with it. This sounded like a perfect option to Linda, who requested the works with our hog roast dining experience with an extra addition of our gourmet sausages from our barbecue range – because for an August event you still need a good bit of summer added in!
‘The works’ for our hog roast also means an accompaniment of homemade sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, and fresh apple sauce. This perfect trio adds even more flavour, even more crispy texture, even more juiciness to every pork roll. From there, sides of tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed leaves, creamy red cabbage coleslaw, herb dressed new potatoes, and a veggie alternative of grilled veg and halloumi skewers were all that was needed to really make this a perfect feast for a perfect birthday celebration.
