We can see why that might by a query or concern for your guests and event. While it is true that, yes, hog roasting does take quite some time, at Hog Roast Leigh-on-Sea we work hard to ensure always that we are adhering to the agreed upon serving time. This is something that will be agreed upon well in advance of your event, once we have gone over the initial planning stages and are beginning to get a menu properly set.
As a catering team Hog Roast Leigh-on-Sea are committed to providing the very best experience for your event. That means hitting that serving time to the minute, or at the very least when you are ready to have it served. We know that parts of events can run over and the entire schedule can shift somewhat. As your caterer, we will do our part in staying flexible to any changes, but typically you can expect our team to have your foods hot, fresh, and ready to go at the agreed serving time. If we have to delay, our chefs will do their best to keep each dish fresh and hot still.
So to answer, will your guests be waiting long for their hog roast? Likely, no. All going well, your hog roast and every other accompanying dish should be ready come serving time. The Hog Roast Leigh-on-Sea chefs usually start their day much earlier than your event’s opening time. We can begin the cooking process either at our own kitchen or on-site at your event early in the day. With our mobile hog roasting machines it is easy enough to get the process going and then hit the road. That means your hog roast gets its full 6-8 hours of roasting before we then carve it up fresh from the spit at your event, ready for serving. Your guests can enjoy the spectacle of the hog roast at your event without having to wait the full 6 hours thereafter. Once they see it, it won’t be long until it is time for serving!
