When the temperatures drop it can be hard to find that added sizzle for a wedding, but at Hog Roast South Ockendon we still always do!
Even though summer weddings are far more popular in general, as a wedding caterer we cannot help but romanticise the winter wedding. Sometimes having it be a little darker, a little colder, maybe even a little snowier, adds to the magic and specialness of the day. When you get a white wedding there is just nothing else quite like it!
Unfortunately, even though the temperatures did drop drastically, the snow did not come out for our wedding this past weekend. All the same however, Amy and Danny tied the knot in magnificent style – with a small helping hand from Dohnis and the Hog Roast South Ockendon team!
It was a father-daughter venture for this one as Dohnis brought his master chef in making daughter to cater for this smaller, more intimate family and friend wedding in
South Ockendon. With about 40 guests on a cold winter night we reckoned everyone could do with a good dose of hot comfort foods to enjoy. So, with Amy and Danny we decided upon our southern slow roast menu which packs plenty of heat and comfort into its mass selection of slow roasted meats and classic American sides. This time, we brought along our BBQ pork butt, Texas style 24 hour beef brisket, Cajun spiced whole roasted chicken thighs, and as a veggie option our grilled veg and halloumi skewers. Because you can never have enough sizzle and comfort for your wedding, Amy and Danny also wanted to add our gourmet sausages into the mix, too.
Served along with our creamy slaw, seasonal leafy greens, and roasted baby new potatoes, this relatively small dining output allowed us to really put our all into every single dish. Our flavours packed a punch, our textures perfect and crisp and tender! Allowing for more quality over quantity proved fruitful as Danny and Amy later got in touch to let us know all about the rave reviews from their wedding party. We are glad that they enjoyed their Hog Roast South Ockendon experience just as much as we enjoyed catering it!
