Proposal Surprises Made Even Better with Hog Roast Maldon

As a wedding caterer Hog Roast Maldon is given the privilege of seeing some of the happiest moments in the lives of many couples. We get to join for engagement parties, cater for the final nights of freedom with stag and hen dos, and craft that all-important first dining experience as a newlywed couple on the special day itself. But rarely in our catering experience do we ever get to see the first step of the wedding process: the proposal.

That changed over the Easter weekend, however, as the Hog Roast Maldon were privy to some special proposal plans in collaboration with one of our customers. Jake came to us some months ago to as how well we could cater for surprises. We’ve done our fair share of surprise birthday parties and the like, and we’ve never let the secret slip yet in our three decades of catering, so I’d say we can handle them fairly well. Catering for a proposal was slightly more novel for us, however, but it got the team very excited at the idea!

This was a difficult one to plan. We knew that everything had to be inch perfect to not give the game away for Jake’s partner. The Hog Roast Maldon team would have to set up our cooking in secret while still being able to cook up our hog roast so that it would be ready to go just as Jake finished his proposal. Fortunately, we had months of planning to put into this one, and we reckon the final result came out just perfectly. Especially so because she said yes!

For the proposal, Jake had taken his partner out to their favourite spot in Maldon together. Meanwhile, some of their friends and family were also hiding nearby along with the Hog Roast Maldon team. As soon as we were all given the signal that the proposal was about to happen, we took up our spots so that as soon as she said yes we would all be able to instantly join in surprise. For our part, we were also going to be waiting with our hog roast rolls – a favourite of Jake and his new fiancé, we were told.

Now, with the proposal a success, we’ll be looking forward to seeing Jake and his partner in a year or so for their wedding!
