If you ask us, there’s something uniquely special about pairing a cold, refreshing beer with the mouth-watering taste of a perfectly roasted hog. And last weekend, the beer festival in South Essex became the ultimate destination for beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike, thanks to the collaboration between event organisers and Hog Roast North Fambridge.
Agreeing with us that nothing could elevate the event quite like a hog roast, Liam, the mastermind behind this festival, reached out to Hog Roast North Fambridge and asked us to help him ensure the day was a success story. With the weather playing along, blessing us with clear skies and sunshine, the stage was set for an unforgettable day of open-air celebrations.
Our team at Hog Roast North Fambridge was thrilled to be part of the festivities, with our catering manager, Dohnis, leading the charge. Drawing on his years of experience and expertise, Dohnis wasted no time in firing up our state-of-the-art grilling equipment and getting down to business.
Anticipating a large turnout of guests, we went all out, preparing not one, but two of our finest hogs. Slow-roasted to golden perfection, each hog was served up on a bed of gluten-free or wholemeal rolls, accompanied by sage and onion stuffing, applesauce, and, of course, everyone’s favourite – crackling! And, to ensure that everyone could partake in the feast, we also offered a delicious meat-free option: BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls, bursting with a rich, smoky flavour.
But there was more still to come! Fresh salads, coleslaw, and traditional fries rounded out the meal, adding an extra layer of flavour and excitement to every plate. The diverse array of options ensured that everyone felt included and catered to, no matter their dietary preferences.
The guests delighted in sampling the variety of ales on offer, but time and time again, they found themselves returning to Hog Roast North Fambridge’s stall for an extra bite of deliciousness.
In the end, the festival was a roaring success, with laughter, music, and, of course, plenty of good food and drink. Thanks to Liam’s vision and Hog Roast North Fambridge’s hard work, it was a day to remember – and we couldn’t be prouder to have been a part of it.
