After popping the question your next few years are spent with a lot of planning and celebrations in anticipation of “the big day”. A proposal of course requires the ensuing engagement party before the wedding to celebrate with friends and family properly, and so that all in your life can pass on their congratulations and shower the couple with gifts. Where there’s an engagement party with 150+ guests there is a need for fine dining to keep everyone well fed to party long into the night. Enter Hog Roast Purfleet.
This week Hog Roast Purfleet provided an excellent buffet catering service for Ronan and Megan’s engagement party as they celebrated with friends and family from both sides. The couple to be wanted to go above and beyond for their buffet spread, and so that meant dispensing with the typical triangle sandwiches, pizza slices, and mini sausage rolls and instead coming to Hog Roast Purfleet for high quality fresh roast dishes! Our buffet is an excellent choice for something like an engagement party, because it gives guests scope to enjoy the evening at their own leisure and take food as and when they need it. Unlike a wedding where a more formal dining setting might be more appropriate, the engagement party tends to be more informal and thus the buffet feast is a perfect choice.
For a group of around 180-200 a couple hog roasts never go amiss. We cooked our roast fresh on the day and had it carved into fine slices ready for easy buffet offerings. Further down the line came an alternative veggie option of BBQ pulled jackfruit, roasted chicken legs, fresh coleslaw, fries and roast potatoes, fresh salmon bites, mini quiches, Caesar salad and fresh seasonal vegetables, halloumi and veg skewers, and plenty of gluten-free rolls and wraps. That was more than enough food to be doing away with but there was also an extra addition of cheesecake or chocolate torte with fresh cream for dessert.
That’s a lot of food, but it seemed the guests certainly worked it all off on the dance floor again as we were cleaning away to leave! An excellent night by all accounts, and we wish the best for the new couple to be!
