The Hog Roast Brentwood team recently received a call from West Ham United FC’s Head Groundsman, Dougie Robertson who expressed his plans to host a summer BBQ in Romford. After reading through our testimonials and discussing our varied and extensive menu options with the customer service team, Dougie decided to put his trust in us to handle the catering for his event which saw 250 people turn up to the football team’s official training ground in search of a good time and some delicious grub. Spoiler alert: they weren’t disappointed!
Led by experienced catering manager Adam, the Hog Roast Brentwood catering crew made their way to the West Ham United FC training field where they quickly launched themselves into setting up. With their newly-built gazebos shielding the team from the hot sun, the next step was bringing our classic hog roast menu to life.
Guests were in high spirits as they arrived at the much-talked-about summer BBQ in the early afternoon to find the weather was on its best behaviour and the Hog Roast Brentwood team had cooked up a mouth-watering buffet of succulent meats, moreish side dishes – and of course, a couple of yummy vegetarian and vegan-friendly options for those following plant-based diets.
Having the choice of BBQ 100% beef 6oz handmade burgers, chefs own gourmet sausages, chicken kebabs, meaty marinated spare ribs – and of course, the main attraction a whole slow roasted pig served with sweet apple sauce, stuffing and perfectly crispy crackling – went down a treat with those in attendance! For non-meat-eaters, the team whipped up grilled vegetable skewers with the option of added haloumi – and for those feeling adventurous, there was a selection of soft floured gluten-free rolls and wraps which allowed guests to create their own snack in a roll using the variety of condiments and sauces available.
From providing the disposable crockery and cooking up a storm; to discreetly clearing the rubbish away at the end of the evening, Dougie and his guests were very impressed by the lengths that the Hog Roast Brentwood team had gone to while catering for their special day.
